For as long as I can remember, I have been surrounded by beauty. My mother loved fine things – dogwoods in full bloom, celadon silk wallpaper, a beautifully set table. She appreciate home furnishings  and loved to peruse antique shops and furniture stores (much to my dismay back then) and her sense of style was refined and fresh.  She was not afraid to make a bold choice – having our mahogany dining set whitewashed in the 1970’s – after a trip to California where everything was lighter and modern.  She was a fabulous, adventurous cook, always trying a new dish she scribbled on notepaper while watching her favorite cooking channel.

Many years later, I realize that it is no surprise that I have come to own a home furnishings shop. Or that I also love styles that she loved – neither one of us could ever resist anything with bamboo detail! It’s no surprise that I redo my home interior often, changing up a room just for one fresh piece that makes my heart sing.

Windsor Cottage has evolved over the years – from a small consignment cottage to a sophisticated shop blending old and new, antique and modern, from home accessories to new upholstery. We are breathing fresh air into the local home furnishings market, and every day our clientele tell us that we’re looking good. We are so grateful.

Thanks, Mom.

“After many years experience in sales and customer service, I began working part time at Windsor Cottage. That was eleven years ago – and my part time job grew into my current position as manager. I feel fortunate to be a part of a great team, and we all love being surrounded by beautiful home décor every day.

Decorating my home and having it filled with family and friends brings me great joy.

I enjoy reading, gardening, paddle tennis and playing with my granddaughters.”

“After 30 years in sales, a trip to Windsor Cottage ended with a job interview with Peggy. Confident in my sales ability and eager to learn about home décor, seven years have flown by!

Every day, Windsor Cottage teaches me new ways to make life beautiful, inside and out.”

“My passion for home decorating began when I was a teenager. My family built a cabin in the country that was filled with “treasures” that my mother found, and my father refurbished. This interest turned into a hobby, and now I enjoy helping people transform their living space into their own personal story.

I believe rooms should embrace your passions, travels and keepsakes.

My husband and I enjoy traveling to the western United States, skiing, and mountain biking in our spare time.”

“As the daughter of a builder, I grew up looking at the development of house plans and was able to see peoples’ homes come to fruition. I’ve always had an eye for color, coordination and proportion as well as a love for furniture, so creating a beautiful home is second nature to me. Too often, people only pay attention to making their home inviting when it comes time to sell. I firmly believe that one’s home should be attractive, comfortable and functional so it can be enjoyed every day. Together with the fabulous furnishings we offer at Windsor Cottage, I can help you do that!

I love the idea of consignment items – giving good quality pieces a new home and a new life. We also feature our Windsor Cottage Upholstery Collection – wonderful quality in a variety of fabrics and configurations. Together with our accent pieces, artwork and lamps, we have the best home furnishings selections in Rochester.”

Pat has been in the home furnishings industry for nearly 30 years, and has helped many in the Rochester area create beautiful homes. In her spare time she enjoys cooking, puttering around the house and sports car racing.

Recently, my husband and I moved to Rochester from New York City and purchased our first home. Naturally, a recommendation to check out Windsor Cottage came my way. It was the Kilim Loafers I was wearing that had Peggy and I strike up a conversation and it was the unique and unusual items that had me coming back week after week. Jump ahead to today and I couldn’t be more excited to be joining the Windsor Cottage family.

Working in showrooms in New York I began to realize that my true passion was interior design. Assisting families in creating a space that they can call their own is truly my ultimate goal. Your home should be a representation of who you are and what means the most to you. I’m here to help you put it all together.

When I’m not assisting clients, I enjoy working on projects in my own home, weekend trips back to New York,  and checking out restaurants in the Rochester area. Recommendations are welcome!
